Window Sensors

Sensors placed near windows may be of two different types: acoustic sensors or glassbreak sensors or the mechanism sensor.

Accoustic sensors have a microphone that can hear the frequencies created when glass breaks.

Windows have locks, or a mechanism or magnetic contact that keeps them from being opened. In order for the window to be slid or swung open, the mechanism's metallic contacts must lose contact with one another. One part of the sensor is attached to the fixed side of the window, and the other attached to the movable part of the window. These types of motion sensors can be attached to anything with a door, window, drawer or lid.

Other types of motion sensors:

Infrared Sensors
Microwave Sensors
Digital Sensors
