Swimming Pool Alarms

Pool alarms cover a number of security zones within a pool area. Some sensors are placed in the pool itself while others cover gates, fences and areas around the pool. Several types of pool alarms are in common use today.

Surface Pool Alarms

Surface pool alarms detect waves on the surface of the pool, however these may create a false alarm if a strong gust of wind or a bird hits the water's surface.

Submersive Pool Alarms

Submersed, or subsurface pool alarms, detect water displacement and can be used when a pool cover is on. Many children have gotten under pool covers and drown so subsurface pool alarms have an advantage over surface alarms, which cannot be used when a pool cover is drawn across the pool's surface.

Wristband alarms can be worn by children when they're near a pool area. The alarm is activated when it comes into contact with water.

Common gate electromagnetic alarms can be used on gates to warn of children passing through the gate.

Motion sensors can also be set up to scan the area around a pool. Anyone, including children, heading toward the pool will set off the alarm.
