Medical pagers are designed to alert multiple medication users when it's time to take their medicine, and at what doses. The medical pager service is a very simple concept that can save lives, prevent relapses, speed recovery times and improve a medicated patient's life.

Medical pagers are used in conjunction with participating pharmacies and home health agencies throughout North America. When it's time to take medication, the medical pager sends an alphanumeric pager message that reminds a patient what medication to take, and at what dose, it also includes any additional instructions provided by the doctor or pharmacist.

The medical pager service is programmed by the medical pager provider, with all of the subscriber's prescription information, medication names and dosages. Once the pager is programmed the patient just has to wear the pager. When it is time for a dose of medication the pager will continue to beep or vibrate until the message is deleted. Once the medication is taken, the subscriber can delete the message and will be alerted the next time medication is needed. If the subscriber's prescription changes, all they have to do is call their pager company to have the details of their paged messages changed.

Monthly medical pager service costs between $30 and $40. A medical pager can be purchased for between $35 and $100 online.
