Medical Alarms

Medical alarms, also referred to as medical alert devices, are most commonly small personal emergency alarms that are monitored 24-hours per day. Medical alarms are wireless and small enough to be worn as pendants, watches, key chains or medic alert bracelets & most are also waterproof. Medical alarms allow for seniors to live independently, while offering security and quick emergency response at the wearer's fingertips.

Medical alarms work anywhere there is a phone line. They are typically worn by the subscriber and provide wireless connection to an emergency console that can be installed anywhere inside the subscriber's home.

Medical alarms are activated by pressing the emergency button during a medical emergency. Once activated the wireless medical alarm will signal the emergency console to contact either your medical alarm company's 24-hour emergency response center or it will begin to call your emergency contacts in the order you've programmed them into the medical alert system. If there's no answer, the medical alarm system will continue to dial, finally dialing 911 if necessary.

Your medical monitoring system can be programmed to notify family members, neighbors, personal doctors and friends, an emergency 24-hour medical service operator or 911 emergency services. Medical alarm services & some rent equipment and have monthly monitoring fees that cost between $15 and $50, while others offer a one-time fee between $140 and up to $1,500.
