Sensors/Detectors react to stimuli (sound, movement, heat sources, air quality, or seismic readings.) If the Control Panel acts as a brain for the security system, the sensors are the 'senses' of the body detecting changes in the environment. The Keypad Interface is the manual control to arm and disarm the system, adjust options, and set pre-codes and voice messages (as needed). Personal identification numbers used to arm and disarm the system are locked in from the keypad interface, although some systems use a switch. Audible/Visual Alarms send out a signal either through turning on lights, flashing of lights, sending a notification to authorities, creating a loud sound, or some combination of all the options. Monitoring Cameras can be used to provide continuous or intermittent monitoring of an area or a particular location. With wireless options, cameras can be placed in nearly any fixture common household item or fastened to buildings or trees and be difficult to detect. Remote Controls provide the opportunity to reset, activate/deactivate, or trigger alarms with a click of a button. Remote controllers are usually an added feature, or an extra with a standard system, and can come in different shapes and sizes.
